To purchase quality fillies with excellent conformation and pedigrees to race, with the aim of obtaining black type status.
Then, establish a select group of broodmares which could be mated with the best sires in the country with the ambition to breed tomorrows champions, or take advanatge of their residual value and offer to the market as Broodmares
OUR STORY
As a result my 40 year involvement in the racing industry, Associated Bloodstock was established in 2014 with the aim of sharing the thrill and emotion of racing with exisiting and new owners to the industry . That 40 years has seen its share of success with many winners -
all the way up to Group 1 level!
Our greatest thrill was being part of the team that raced the Queensland hero -
Chief De Beers.
With a record of 51 starts for 20 Wins,12 Seconds, 5 Thirds and 5 Fourths and $1.6 million in prizemoney it was a truely amazing experience - and I hope to share that with you !
"The Chief" lived out his last years at the magnificent Living Legends complex on Melbourne's outskirts , passing away peacefully on the 17/7/20. Shortly before his passing The Chief was awarded Blue Cross Medal by the Australian War Animal Memorial Organisation for service to the community - A fitting honor !
Our aim at Associated Bloodstock, is to offer a premium quality product with a boutique-style stable and service. We use the services of the highly respected bloodstock consultant Clarke Bloodstock - www.clarkebloodstock.com.au to assist with the selection process. Our hands-on team will look after all the details for you – selecting the horses and carrying out the relevant checks before purchase.
Unlike others, we retain a share in each horse. That’s our way of showing that we will be with you all the way and doing our best to capture that winning feeling - Let's go racing !

OUR TRAINER
MICHAEL FREEDMAN RACING - Sydney / Gold Coast
Michael Freedman commenced his career in 1988, joining his three older brothers - Australian Racing Hall of Famer Lee, Anthony and Richard - in their training business in Melbourne. During their 20-year training partnership, the Freedman stable was one of Australia's most prominent preparing over 100 Group 1 winners, including the Melbourne Cup on five occasions, as well as four consecutive Golden Slipper winners.
In 2008, Michael branched out to train in his own right when he was granted a licence to train in Singapore. Winning 468 races at a strike rate of 15%, his best galloper during that period was the two-time Singapore Horse of the Year - Super Easy.
After a brief stint in Hong Kong, Freedman returned to Australia, where his stable included Golden Slipper runner-up Frolic. In 2019, Michael teamed up with his brother Richard under the banner of Freedman Brothers. During that time, based at Randwick, Michael oversaw the training of Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside, three-time Group 1 winner Forbidden Love and Group/feature race winners, Tiger Of Malay, Glistening, Queen Of The Ball & Prime Star.
Michael looks forward to continuing to deliver a first-class thoroughbred training service. The Gold Coast stable will be under the care of his brother Lee .
