OUR VISION
To purchase quality fillies with excellent conformation and pedigrees to race, with the aim of obtaining black type status.
Then, establish a select group of broodmares which could be mated with the best sires in the country with the ambition to breed tomorrows champions, or take advanatge of their residual value and offer to the market as Broodmares
As a result my 40 year involvement in the racing industry, Associated Bloodstock was established in 2014 with the aim of sharing the thrill and emotion of racing with exisiting and new owners to the industry . That 40 years has seen its share of success with many winners -
all the way up to Group 1 level!
Our greatest thrill was being part of the team that raced the Queensland hero -
Chief De Beers.
With a record of 51 starts for 20 Wins,12 Seconds, 5 Thirds and 5 Fourths and $1.6 million in prizemoney it was a truely amazing experience - and I hope to share that with you !
"The Chief" lived out his last years at the magnificent Living Legends complex on Melbourne's outskirts , passing away peacefully on the 17/7/20. Shortly before his passing The Chief was awarded Blue Cross Medal by the Australian War Animal Memorial Organisation for service to the community - A fitting honor !
Our aim at Associated Bloodstock, is to offer a premium quality product with a boutique-style stable and service. We use the services of the highly respected bloodstock consultant Clarke Bloodstock - www.clarkebloodstock.com.au to assist with the selection process. Our hands-on team will look after all the details for you – selecting the horses and carrying out the relevant checks before purchase.
Unlike others, we retain a share in each horse. That’s our way of showing that we will be with you all the way and doing our best to capture that winning feeling - Let's go racing !

LEE FREEDMAN RACING - Gold Coast (Australian Racing Hall of Fame Trainer)
Throughout his illustrious career, Lee has trained nearly 4000 Winners, 128 Group 1 Winners and more than 300 Group Winners. Five Melbourne Cups, four Caulfield Cups, four Golden Slippers and two Cox Plates, as well as 12 Derbies and 10 Oaks, both with his brothers and on his own. Adding to this immense tour de force, Lee has attained seven Melbourne Premierships and more recently, a Singapore Premiership was added to the books in 2018.
“Although I’ve enjoyed a successful three and a half years in Singapore, there’s no place like home, and Jo and I feel like it’s the right time to return. Racing is booming in Australia and the Gold Coast is set to be a bigger part of that boom with the club’s plans for revamping the track and the stabling, as well as introducing night racing in 2022. I plan to have a young stable of horses and a great group of dedicated people to work with”
FREEDMAN RACING - Mount Eliza : Anthony & Sam Freedman
Anthony is the third eldest of racing's famous Freedman brothers. He has been an integral part of the vast Freedman Racing operation since the mid-1980s.
Late in 1992, Anthony pioneered the Freedman brothers' first foray interstate, when he opened a stable at Randwick. In that first year in Sydney, Anthony (under Lee's licence) prepared Bint Marscay to win the 1993 Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes at Rosehill.
Anthony formed Anthony Freedman Racing at the start of the 2012-2013 racing season and since then has trained over 400 winners.
Sam is the youngest son of Anthony. He has grown up around the stable and has a strong passion for the horse racing industry. After completing his secondary and tertiary education, Sam travelled to England. During his time overseas, Sam spent two years working for leading European trainer Roger Varian as his pupil assistant. At Varians, Sam was fortunate enough to work closely with leading international galloper Postponed as well as other Group 1 winners Belardo, Ajman Princess, Sheikha Reika and Ajman Princess.
Sam returned to Australia in October 2017 to re-join his father’s stable bringing a wealth of knowledge from his time overseas and an eagerness to continue building on what he has learnt. Sam brings fresh ideas to the business as well as enthusiasm to build on the success of the stable.
Sam joined his father in a training partnership at the beginning of the 2020-21 racing season.
A highlight for Freedman Racing was training the 2023 Melbourne Cup winner - WITHOUT A FIGHT .
